Vacation Bible School

- VBS is for children 4 years old by September 2018 through those completing 6th grade.
- Nursery provided for younger children 6 months through those who turned 4 after September 2018. Parents must contact Leslie at (214)437-6936 to reserve a nursery spot.
- There is a $10.00 registration fee per child or adult and a VBS t-shirt is included.
- The registration fee is collected online through Paypal.
Baptism Class Registration
Parents and godparents must attend a Baptism prepartion class. If parents or godparents have completed a baptism preparation class within the past 24 months, they may submit a written statement or certificate from the Catholic Church where the class was completed. Please call the office for the current class schedule. There is no registration fee for the baptism of your child. Donations to the parish are greatly appreciated.
It is the privilege of every parish to have their members baptized in their own parish church. Parents must be registered active members of this parish to have their children baptized here. God parents must certify their eligibility. God parents who are not registered members of Holy Spirit, must submit a certificate of their eligibility as well as a letter from the pastor of their home parish verifying that they do meet all qualifications listed below. Please contact the parish office at 806.698.6400 to learn when the next baptismal class will be offered.
Registered, active members are those that have completed a parish registration form, attend Mass faithfully and support the life of the parish as well as support the parish financially through the envelope system or some other identifiable means.
Parents will need to supply a copy of the child’s birth certificate before Baptism can be scheduled.
Baptismal Godparents
Be Catholic. A godparent must be a baptized Catholic above the age of 16 years old and also has completed the sacraments of the Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. A baptized non-Catholic may not be a godparent but can serve as a witness along with a Catholic godparent.
Not the Parent. Godparents cannot be the parent of the child that is being baptized.
Married in the Catholic Church. If the godparent is married, they must be married in the Catholic Church.
Follow the precepts of the Catholic Church: A godparent needs to be in good standing which is often defined as at a minimum following the precepts of the Catholic Church. “Nobody expects you to be perfect,” says Patrick Madrid. “The Catholic Church does not require you to have a halo. But you have to be making a good faith effort to be a good Catholic—to love the Lord and to grow closer to him.”
The precepts of the Catholic Church are:
- Attend Mass on Sundays and days of obligation.
- Confess your sins at least once a year.
- Receive the Eucharist at least once a year.
- Observe days of fasting and abstinence.
- Provide for the needs of the Church. The Catechism notes that this “means that the faithful are obliged to assist with the material needs of the Church, each according to his own ability.” It can also include the donation of time.
One male and one female. The two godparents don’t have to be married to each other, but there can only be one male sponsor or one female sponsor, or one of each. In other words, you can’t have two godfathers or two godmothers.
Must be baptized. Non-baptized persons may not serve as a godparent. Godparents, our diocese asks that you complete the Godparents’ form.
Registration for EDGE Classes, 7th through 8th grade.

Tuition: $35.00 per student. Tuition for Confirmation students is an additional $30.
7th & 8th grades Wednesday 6:00 pm ~ 7:00 pm – Starting September 11th
8th grade Confirmation class Sundays 2:15 pm – 3:45 pm – Starting September 8th

Tuition: $35.00 for one child, $70.00 for two or more students. Tuition for Confirmation students is an additional $30.
Wednesdays 7:00-8:30 p.m. – Starting September 11th
If your student did not receive Confirmation in 8th grade, they will be enrolled in Life Teen in addition to Confirmation class. An additional fee is required to cover the cost of books and materials for Confirmation.
