In order to join the Catholic Church and experience the Rites of Initiation, the Church requires you to have a sponsor to ‘walk’ with you through the classes, answer your questions, support you in the Rites, and help prepare you to become Catholic. You may choose your own Sponsor or we can match you with a person of like interests, age, and background. *In order to be a Sponsor/Godparent, the person cannot be directly related to you. This includes spouses or future spouses, parents and children. Sponsors must have received all their Sacraments, be an active and contributing member at a parish, and living as the Church teaches us.They must live in the Lubbock area in order to attend some classes and the Rites with you.
