Communion Announcement

Home  /  Parish News  /  Communion ...

During the past months there have been several occasions when people who have come forward to receive Communion have not immediately consumed the Sacred Host, and some have put it in their pocket, or a purse, or have taken it out of their mouth to share with a young child. This is completely wrong and a scandalous mistreatment of the Eucharist. It is not to be allowed and is never to be done. If you receive on the hand, immediately after receiving the Host from the priest, deacon, or extraordinary minister, it is to be paced in the mouth and consumed, or the person is to be corrected and not allowed to receive it. The Body of the Christ must be treated with the utmost respect and worship. Thank you

Reminder

After the alter is cleaned off and the priest goes back to his seat, he will pray the communion antiphon while everyone remains kneeling or sitting. Then the priest announces, “Let us pray,” and that is when the congregation stands.
