In order to join the Catholic Church and receive the Sacraments of Initiation, the Church requires you to have a sponsor to ‘walk’ with you through your journey, help answer your questions, support you in the Rites, and help prepare you to become Catholic. You may choose your own Sponsor or we can match you with a person of similar interests, age, and background. *In order to be a Sponsor/Godparent, the person cannot be directly related to you. This includes spouses or future spouses, parents and children. Sponsors must have received all their Sacraments of Initiation, be an active and contributing member at a parish, and living as a practicing Catholic as the Church teaches us in the precepts. We require a Letter of Good Standing from their parish priest if they are not a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
